The Shortest Distance Between Two Points
The shortest distance between two points is zero
In wormhole theory, it is hypothesised that an object can be sent from A to B by bending space until two points are touching, creating a kind of portal. Thanks to the internet and its social media platforms, physical distance as an obstacle for communication is all but removed. Our wormholes are our screens. We can't use the internet to travel between places but we can be constantly connected to others and be omnipresent in the non-space of data and networks. When the space between each other is reduced to zero by video calls, and our social media profiles leave us permanently open to interactions and exchanges with millions, what happens to our idea of self?
